Grand Am - Grand American Road Racing Association - This encompasses several different race series that feature all types of vehicles, each class given it's own series. You'll see everything from classical cars to street cars, on up to modern high powered racers. Whatever your taste, you'll probably find a Grand Am series that will fill it!
Formula 1 - Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile - One of the most popular motorsports in the world, Formula 1, or F1, has open cockpit and exposed wheeled cars traveling at close to 200 MPH! Skill and well practiced reflexes are essential for these fast pace races! Also check out F1's little brother, G2, to see the up-and coming racers.
Indy Car Racing - INDYCAR (formerly IRL and CHAMPCAR) With open wheel cars similar to Formula 1, Indy Cars take their name from the famous Indianapolis 500. They're open wheeled and fast, and the courses they race are throughout the US.
Off Road Rally Racing - World Rally Championship or WRC - This motorsport has gained in popularity in the US over the last few years, but has been one of the most popular sports world-wide for some time. WRC races pit super fast versions of production vehicles against various timed stages. These include gravel, snow, ice, dirt, and the occasional paved road. Always exciting to watch for both the amazing cars and the skill of the drivers, only those with the fastest times win!
Drag Racing - National Hot Rod Association - Featuring the most powerful, the fastest, and the noisiest cars that exist, drag racing is not for the faint of heart. If you're looking for the ultimate expression of machine and speed without leaving the ground, drag racing is it! Racers rocket down the 1/4 mile track in seconds! Explosions and crashes occur when limits of man and machine are exceeded in these high power events!
Endurance Racing - Le Mans and American LeMans - These endurance races feature cars of different classes racing for 24 hours. Teams are allowed to change drivers and repair cars during the race. The car that can complete the most laps wins! This is a great way to see a large number of different race cars at the same race.
Off Road Endurance racing - Various bodies govern the different events around the world - From Baja California, to the starting line of Paris - Dakar, off road endurance racing offers the chance to see an amazing variety of vehicles in the worst elements racing has to offer. Traveling hundreds, even thousands of miles without roads, it tests the best of both man and machine!
Amateur Races - Sport Car Club of America (SCCA). The SCCA holds rally's and races throughout the United states providing a venue for amateur racers, and even just plain old folks, the opportunity to race. There are several different classes and events, some open to the public to drive their cars around cone outlined courses, others with modified cars racing each other on major racetracks. Whether you want to race or want to watch, SCCA events are always a blast!
